Police arrest one person in connection with the RG Kar hospital rape and murder case. The accused has been identified as Sanjay Roy. As per reports, Roy was taken to Lalbazar for questioning and investigators found inconsistency in his statements following which, he was arrested. Sources also claim that Roy had free access inside the hospital.
The body of a woman doctor was found under mysterious circumstances on the fourth floor of the emergency building of RG Kar Medical College in West Bengal’s Kolkata on Friday morning. The victim, a second-year postgraduate student of RG Kar Medical College, was found dead inside the Seminar Hall on the 3rd floor of the campus.
Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal and a forensic team arrived at the spot for investigation. The body has been taken for post-mortem. The initial autopsy indicated that she was murdered after being sexually assaulted, police said. It also ruled out suicide, they said, adding that a case has now been registered at the Tala Police Station.
